Why We Built This Site

Chicken rates in India are hard to read. One quotation may be for a live bird, another for dressed chicken, and a third for skinless meat. The unit, the market and the stage of sale are often left unstated, so two numbers that look alike can describe different things.

We built Today Chicken Rate India to bring the rates together in one place and to explain what each one covers. Our aim is to help you read a rate correctly before you buy, sell or compare.

What We Track

For each city we follow four categories. Every city has its own page, and the homepage shows an average across cities.

Chicken liverLiver rates, listed separately from the meat categories.

How We Update the Rates

Our team updates the rates by hand every day. Rates are not pulled automatically from a feed.

Updated by peopleRates are entered manually by our team each day.
A reference, not a shop priceYour seller’s price can differ because of cleaning, cutting, delivery and the seller’s own costs.

Rates on the site are for information only. Please confirm the price with your local seller before buying.

More Than a Rate Table

Alongside the rates, we write guides that explain how chicken prices work. They cover live weight and dressed weight, the difference between skinless and boneless chicken, what “paper rate” means, and how farm, wholesale and retail prices differ.

Each city page also has its own guide, written for that market, so the explanation fits the place you are checking.
